As a son of previous illegal immigrants and having most of my family who currently live in this country that work hard everyday to make a decent living in the United States I would have to completely disagree with his statements. I personally do not know about the people of Mexico but I do know that many countries in Central America face many issues the biggest one being gang violence. In my own country of El Salvador there are on average 30 murders a day according to Discovery with having more than half of these murders being gang related. This problem however is occurring all throughout Central America and the only solution for people hoping to escape with their families is to immigrate to the United States of America the Land of Opportunity.
Donald Trump's plan would possibly cripple relations with not only Mexico but other foreign nations. I am also not saying that our border should be an open door to anybody knocking but putting a ridiculous plan into play would ruin this country.
I am not a person who is big into politics so I don't know any possible solutions to this immigration problem but I do know that separating the United States from many other countries would definitely be more of a problem than a solution.
Thank you for your post. Maybe the post is part of the solution? It lets others know that the families/children of immigrants are not criminals--but people who want to escape violence and take care of family--who are willing to go to college, work hard, as long as those opportunities actually exist?
ReplyDeleteI think the next issue here is to get involved. Get political. If you don't, someone like Trump could have a say on this issue that might not align with the sentiments of most of Americans.
The photo you posted is pretty funny! I like the issue you are addressing; Trump's wall plan truly makes no sense. A solution could be to take a stance against Trump's ideas and get others involved in the issue.

ReplyDeleteFirst let me say, the idea of a wall is incredibly stupid. All it'll do is ruin relations, make the US look unfavorable, prevent people needing a better life from attaining one, etc.
But his idea of a wall does point out a serious issue with both the USA and Mexico. It shows that people in Mexico are desperate to escape to the US, and some of us supporting building a wall shows that it does have a negative effect in at least some ways.
Building a wall is just a bandaid and a horrible, inhumanist one at that. What the USA should be doing is offering support to Mexico, give it's citizens reason to stay, to try and make the country better. Of course, that's hardly practical, expenses and all... but then again, so is building a wall.
