Politics
seems to be one of the biggest topics talked about in college and in everyday
life. So what is the big deal? What is so important about politics that makes
it such a crucial topic for discussion?
Knowing
who is going to be the next president for example is definitely a big deal.
What do they want to change and is it a good or bad thing? Do they support
abortion or not, and so on.

But
should all this be talked about in school? Should we all keep our opinions to
ourselves and respect what others believe? Why can’t it be like religion where
it’s kept out but we respect the belief of others?
Schools
will talk about subjects like same-sex marriage and immigration, which gives
students the chance to talk about the topics and their views on it. This helps
students develop an understanding with their roles in politics so when it comes to voting, they know what to look out for per candidate.
Politics is important because it is in everything. So to have a basic understanding of this topic will benefit you in the long run. This article by Victor Hugg has some good point as to why you should pay attention. From being able to drink, to being able to get your education, it is all decided by politics.
